Khao Bin Cave

Description

Tham Khao Bin is located in the National Forest Reserve and have a distance about 20 kilometers away from Ratchaburi. Go through Highway no.3087, Ratchaburi - Chom Bueng route and there are signs direct to tourist attractions. Tham Khao Bin have 200 meters above the sea. The mouth of the cave is about 5 meters high from the ground. It is a cave with very beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. Can imagine to many animals. At the end of the cave is a stalactites in the shape of a big bird spreading its wings. The depth from the mouth of the cave to the deepest area is about 300 meters. It have beautiful lights shining along the way. It takes about 30-45 minutes to walk around and inside the cave there is a small mineral pond that the villagers believe a holy well. Inside the cave is divided into 8 rooms, each of room is named about the stalagmites and stalactites that occur consisting of the hall of Akantuka (visitors), Sivasthan, Than Anodat, Sakunchat Khuha, Thewasapa Samosornsathan, Kinnaratassana. , Pruksa Himmaphan, Thuy Thep Park.

    History

    Tham Khao Bin, Muang District, Ratchaburi is in the National Forest. It got the name from the legend that a Chinese merchant sailing a large junk through . The ship crashed on one side of the hill and it is chipped, So it was assumed to be called a Khao Bin because of the chipped. Some assumed that from the one of the room in the the caves, which has a dull white stalactite sticking out like a dove is flapping its wings as if about to fly, made it name Khao Bin. The peak of Khao Bin has a height of about 272 meters above sea level. The mouth of the cave is 5 meters high from the ground. The area inside the cave is about 80 square meters and it is decorated with lights making it possible to clearly see the beauty of stalagmites and stalactites. Hin Kong Subdistrict Administrative Organization has come to manage and take care of the Tham Khao Bin tourist attraction. After Ratchaburi had transferred to the Sub-District Administrative Organization take care and manage. Mr. Hiran Watthanarot, the president of Hin Kong Subdistrict Administrative Organization have a purpose to promote tourism for develop tourism of the province, which is a local development policy to become a livable sub-district.
