Description
Three rafts is the usual minimum for whitewater rivers. Always keep the raft behind you sight. You are responsible for the safety of the raft behind you. Tie in all your gear just in case you flip. Secure all lines on your raft so there is no danger of becoming entangled in case of a capsize. Beware of "Strainers" overhanging trees, brush, logs and other obstacles the water flows through rather than around, these could trap you. Scout difficult rapids from shore before running. Portage if in doubt. If you don't want to swim it don't run it, walk around. In case of a capsize get to the upstream end of your raft so you don't get pinned between your raft and a rock. Cold water saps your strength quickly. Wear a wet suit or dry suit in case you swim in colder climates. Learn your limitations and get safety training to enjoy our beautiful rivers in the North West.

History
Kang Sam Chan offers 4 areas of rafting including Kang Tiam, Kang Kod Kung, Koh Kang, and Kang Sam Chan. Kang Tiam was human-made for having water sport lessons located at Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam. Kang Kod Kung and Koh Kang have similar characteristics; during summer, rocks are above the water level and they are covered by the river when it is in winter. The highlight is Kang Sam Chan; it is a three-level islet similar to stairs with the distance of 50 meters which is why it is called in Nakhon Nayok as Kang Sam Chan. Before reaching Kang Sam Chan, there will be a final curve, the rafters have to be careful when turning the raft. Shelter Rock Rapids is the islet at the end of the big river in the national park in Khao Yai. It is in a form of sandstone layer. When it is the rainy season during July-October, the current becomes strong to the level 3-5. The rafting often ends around Wang Sai area as toilets and shower rooms are available for the visitors there.
