Description
Klong Maha Sawasdi or Klong Chaiyapruek is a canal starting from the Bangkauew Canal or Bangkok Noi Canal near Wat Chai Pruek Mala, it flows through the boundary between Bang Kruai district, Nonthaburi and Taling Chan and Thawi Watthana district, Bangkok pass through Phutthamonthon District and go out the Tha Chin River in Ngiew Rai sub-district ,Nakhon Chaisri District, Nakhon Pathom with a total of28 km long. This canal began to be excavated on 13 September 2402 during the reign of King Mongkut for shortcut distant to worship the Pra Patom Chedi. Klong Maha Sawasdi is a canal that King Rama IV ordered to excavate in the year 1857-1900 linking the Nakhon Chaisri River and the Chao Phraya River. To use as a route to worship Phra Pathom Chedi and is the routh for transportation the sugar cane and sugar from Nakhon Chaisri to the factory.
