Nawamindhachini Army base or 21st Infantry Regiment, Queen's Guard was organized according to the UN’s appeal to support the government of Korea to suppress the invasion of North Korea communists. Queen Sirikit, the Commander, named the division ‘Thahan Suea Nawamintra Rachini’ or ‘Thahan Suea Rachini’ (the queen's tiger soldiers). Currently, The regiment is composed of three battalions. It is one of the tourist sites located in the military area, and the training center with various activities.
History
21st Infantry Regiment , Queen's Guard was formed on 22 September 1950 at the request of UN to support Korean government to suppres the North Korean communits. At that time, this unit was named “21st Regiment”. Later, the name was change to the current name on 1 December 1959. The current location is at Nawamindhachini Army base, Bann Suan Sub-district, Muang District, Chonburi. Queen Sirikit is the Special Commander of this unit.
