Description
The beliefs about the Lord Buddha’s footprints appeared in each religion have the myths that the Lord Buddha’s footprints occurred in the Buddha’s lifetime when the Lord Buddha visited various places to preach, propagate the religion and imprint the footprints as memorial for paying respect. Alternatively, it subtly shows that Buddhism has reached to the places where there are the Lord Buddha’s footprints. It is believed that there appears to be 5 places where the Lord Buddha’s footprints are enshrined. One of them is enshrined at Wat Phra Putthabat Si Roi. The footprints vary from those in other places because there are 4 footprints of the Lord Buddha. This temple is a monastery located in Sa Luang Subdistrict, Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province, about 32 kilometers from Chiang Mai city center.
