"Pha Sawan Waterfall” is one of the large waterfalls and very splendid, located in the deep forest with an abundance of nature filled with dense trees around. Besides the great beauty of the waterfall attracting people to visit, the route to Pha Sawan Waterfall is another challenge for those who love adventure and wish to prove its difficulties with nature trails and mud. It is a good place for those who love adventurous activities and waterfalls. The road to the waterfall is also a favorite for off-road tourists and 4-wheel drivers because the route is quite steep and challenging for travel which many travelers wish to experience.
You can walk to Pha Saawan Waterfall from Pha Tat Waterfall Forest Protection Unit about 9 km. It takes about 3-4 hours by walking along Pha Tat Waterfall to the top. The area is mostly full of a bamboo forest with a shade of wood from a moist forest. The soil is quite slippery if it is muddy. When you climb up to the top, you must cross the dam. When leaving the forest, you will find the route converging with the road to Pha Sawan Waterfall. This road is non-asphalt with knee-deep puddles and muddy. Some parts may be slippery as well. Therefore, you should prepare shoes for walking on mud.
Driving to the waterfall, you should use a four-wheel drive, motocross bike, or vehicle for all difficult conditions. The vehicle should be equipped with winch (electric hoist or snatch block) or other accessories to help pull the car in cases where it is stuck in muddy puddles because the road to the waterfall is non-asphalt. If it rains or floods, the soil may be muddy. In a dry season, the road is not very convenient for saloons.
