Tham Yang Wee
From Thung Kik towards the south direction with the distance of 9 km, it is the farthest tourist attraction of Mae Ping National Park. Visitors have to go and return by walking on the same way and a guide is needed as well. It is a large limestone cave that is free of human disturbance. There are fascinating stalagmites and stalactites with millions of bats. The length of the entrance to the other side is about 150 m. The inside consists of large four rooms. The first room contains crystal glass stones glittering in the dark. Go further about 85 m., you will find the second hall with stalagmites swaying like a curtain called stalagmite curtain. The third room has a stone pillar of Tub Tib Goddess with growing stalactites and stalagmites. Then pass through the old reservoir containing the rain falling from the ceiling of the cave. The fourth room is a spacious cave hall.
On the way to Tham Yang Wee, about 10 km from Thung Kik, it si a pine forest mixed with a dry dipterocarp forest with the area of thousands of acres. The atmosphere is cool and shady. It is called Phra Baht Yangwee Forest because a 0.80x1.20 meter footprint of the Buddha appears in this pine forest and a pavilion was also built to cover the footprint.
History
Tham Yang Wee is a cave located in the Mae Ping National Park. Visitors need to walk about 11 kilometers parking lot. There are large halls inside the cave with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. Along the walkway to the cave it is a very rich natural forest. A guide is needed to visit the cave due to a long walkway and the deep forest.
