Description
“Phu Huay Isan” - The Viewpoint of Sea of Mist and Sunrise
Feature
Phu Huay Isan, the new viewpoint of sea of mist in Nong Khai, is the very interesting place because the amazing sea of mist, the stunning mountain ranges, and the Khong River view are visible from here. This is the extraordinary place in Thailand.
History
Phu Huay Isan is a low hillock located in Baan Muang, A. Sang Khom, Nong Khai near the Khong River. The hillock, which occupied area of villager’s garden is proved as the great viewpoint of sea of mist, especially at the end of rainy season and the beginning of winter. The villagers develop the scenery to become the tourist site and use E-Tak, the vehicle used in agriculture, to service tourists. The charming sea of mist at Phu Huay Isan is second to none because of its advantages; the transport that conveniently takes tourists to the top of the scenic point. Without the mist, this place is still the best viewpoint of sunrise since the Khong River is the perfect background.
Phu Huay Isan is the soil hill so E-Tak is the most suitable vehicle for transport. The trip begins from Krua Mai Nam restaurant which is located 17-kilometers far from resort zone in A. Sang Khom, where people catch the transport. Tour guide fee is 60 baht per person. Tourists travel for 3 kilometers on E-Tak, turn right at the junction to Phu Huay Isa and head to the hill for one kilometer, taking about 20 minutes. The two-story quad viewpoint is available on the hill for more than 10 tourists.
The villagers reckon that “Huay Isan” might be altered from “Huay Ichan” or “Ichan”, in Isan dialect to say, “this is my brook.”
