Description
Is a large reservoir for agriculture, fishery and water supply. It is under the responsibility of the Department of Irrigation, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and covers an area of approximately 20,000 rai. It is also a tourist attraction with a beautiful view and ideal for relaxing to see the scenery. In the area of the Reservoir, there is the Royal Villa of the late Princess Mother HRH Princess Srinagarindra in which the Princess would come to reside here nearly every year. Interested people can visit the Royal Villa, but must contact the officer in advance.
Getting There : Follow the Udon Thani Nong Bua Lamphu route to Km. marker 108 and then turn into the entrance a continue on for about 9 kilometres.

History
The reservoir dam at Huai Luang is located off the Udon Thani to Nong Bua Lam Phu Highway, a little to the north of the Fossil Museum. The reservoir has an area of about 20,000 rai, and was built for fishery, agricultural, and electricity generation purposes.

How to travel to Udon Thani

1) Car

From Bangkok, follow Highway No.1 (Phahon Yothin) to Saraburi, and in the area of Km. 107 turn onto Highway No. 2 (Mitraphap) passing Nakhon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen, to Udon Thani. The total distance is 564 kilometers.

2) Bus

There are daily ordinary and air-conditioned buses going between Bangkok-Udon Thani. Buses depart:
